Whether it’s on Facebook, or TeachersPayTeachers, or at a training, there is never a lack of resources in education. The challenge can be finding good resources. Below you’ll find links to things that we have found helpful. Feel free to use and distribute as you wish, just don’t forget to give credit!

Education Programs

Human Restoration Project – This organization partners with schools to focus on systematically reimagining education in support of a human-oriented experience. This work includes training and a variety of resources.

Teton Science Schools – Teton Science Schools focuses on place-based education, which links students to the world around them. These leaders in innovation and building community impact to help students learn and strengthen their communities

Job Search

Jobseeking is Hard is a weekly newsletter put out by Kapriak Consulting, which talks about the unique challenges of job hunting. Each week questions get answered, frustrations get shared (including the worst questions folks have been asked in a job interview). It’s a great resource to take a look at, though not explicitly related to the teaching field.

Sample Educational Resume There are many ways to build a resume. This site offers a lot of variety. I generally prefer “old school” resumes, an example is the “Teaching Assistant” template. Remember that you’re likely going to need to copy all the information from your Resume into an online application program such as Frontline.

Cover Letter. There are a ton of ways to do a Cover Letter. These frequently discuss or highlight areas that your resume does not. Think numbers, achievement, descriptors. If there are gaps or areas you need to discuss, the Cover Letter lets you do that.

SchoolSpring is often your best go-to to find job listings. Your state may also have a teacher assoication website which hosts links. Also dont hesitate to Google schools in your area and see what might be on their employment or jobs page.
